headboard

i wanted to get one of those mortise-and-tenon joint bedframes but the cheap one did not come with a headboard. so i made my own!

i used an ikea desk (don't remember what it is called but about as wide as the frame), and bought upholstery batting, a mattress topper, and a linen-look shower curtain.

i stapled the mattress topper to the desk top (i also bought a staple gun for this!) and then stapled the batting over it, and then finally the shower curtain.

this ended up ok, but the shower curtain is not a great texture or match for my sheets (it's about the same color) so i want to change it. i will probably buy real upholstery fabric this time because i can do with just 2 yards i think maybe three.
